October is here!

Actually it’s not Autumn! Only a few drops rain and now the sun is shining. The weather now is perfect cause you can still spend a great day out visiting the picturesque villages or cities in the nearby of Belmonte and their typical food festival with seasonal products such as grapes and wine, truffles and chestnuts etc. …you know, any excuse is a good one to eat in Tuscany!…and to spend a holiday in a wonderful farmhouse in the countryside. Therefore, I heartily recommend all of you who follow my blog posts or the facebook’s fan club, to come and spend your holiday in a farmhouse in Tuscany. A holiday break now in Tuscany is definitely an opportunity not to be missed.

…and the landscape is changing

The beauty of the Tuscan landscape in Autumn is special. The colours turn to warmer tones like orange and brown and people feel as if everything around them changes. I love photography, I especially like to take landscape pictures; and in this period I have the possibility to capture beautiful landscapes with very unusual and surprising colours.

Autumn flavours

Every weekend in many small villages and hamlets you’ll find a seasonal food festival. During your holiday in farmhouse in Tuscany, you’ll have the possibility to taste some typical delicious dishes and at the same time you can visit beautiful places where extraordinary things are hidden, such as a picturesque square, a bell tower, a wonderful viewpoint or a museum, for example now it occurs to me the “Museo della civiltà contadina” museum of rural tradition in  Montefoscoli, etc …. October is the perfect month to visit Tuscany if you like and want to taste truffles, wine, chestnuts and other delightful delicacies. Montaione, San Miniato, Volterra, Corazzano and Cigoli are vying for the title of “Città del tartufo” (Truffle town). In this period of the year many truffle hunters with their skilled dogs go and search the delicious earth product, the same we can find, taste and buy during the truffle fairs.
