Montaione

is a wonderful place to spend your holiday. The landscape is great, people are very friendly and food is delicious. If you want to experience all this at once, then you cannot miss the appointment with the open-air market which takes place the first Tuesday of each summer month.

From 6 pm till around midnight the streets of the historical centre of Montaione become a big open-air shop where you can find all you are looking for and an important meeting point which gives you the possibility to have a chat with a friend or to get to know new people.

Inside the ancient walls of the town, you will find may stands showing and selling all sort of things, from handcrafted jewellery made of gold, silver or alternative materials to blankets, pillows and hand-embroidered items, antiques, funny clothes and accessories.

The main square Piazza della Repubblica is reserved for wine, olive oil and products made in Montaione and in the nearby. The farm owners will sell their own products directly: extra-virgin olive oil, truffle and saffron sauces, honey, cheese and marmalades. You will have the possibility to taste and choose your favourite wine.

And when you are fed up with walking and doing shopping, you can simply sit and relax in a bar, tasting an Italian coffee, an ice cream or a fresh beer and enjoying the charming atmosphere of Montaione by night.
